Cowbridge, Vale of Glamorgan

The main town of the Vale of Glamorgan, about 7 miles west of Cardiff, Cowbridge is on the site of a Roman settlement. It is one of few medieval walled towns in Wales, and parts of the wall still stand. It's very different to the Valleys towns which lie a few miles to the north, with elegant architecture spanning several eras and plenty of rather upmarket shops and eateries.
