Standing near the entrance of Victoria Gardens, a public park in the centre of Neath, is this statue. Its inscription says: "Howel Gwyn born June 24th 1806 died January 25th 1888". Unveiled in 1888, the statue stood outside the Gwyn Hall until 1967 when it was moved to its current location.
