Looking across Pen-y-Gwryd Lake towards Mount Snowdon on an icy December morning. Originally the site of a Roman camp, some remains of which can still be seen, the lake was created as a trout hatchery in the 1920s, and belongs to the Pen-y-Gwrd Hotel.
