The Vivian Quarry, part of the vast Dinorwig slate mines at Llanberis, was last worked in 1958. Since then it has filled with water to a depth of up to 18 metres from mountain run-offs and underground springs. It is now a diving centre, offering clear water and safe sheltered diving.
