Wales' oldest timber-framed market hall stands in the centre of Llanidloes and dates back to the early 1600s. It was originally known as the Booth Hall, and was used as the town's market until the early 20th Century. The upper floor was used for many different purposes, including court room, religious meeting hall, storage of flannel, and Working Mens' Institute.
