Nationa Botanic Garden of Wales - Designed to resemble a teardrop in the landscape by the Norman Foster architectural partnership, the Great Glasshouse is a stunning centrepiece to the gardens. With a Mediterranean climate - fiercely hot in summer and cool and wet in the winter - it is home to many the 20% of the worlds plant species which are to be found in the 2% of the plant which have this type of climate. Divided into six distinct areas, it includes plants from Chile, Western Australia, California, South Africa, the Canaries and the Mediterranean Basin.
