At the foot of steep cliffs, accessible only via a long flight of metal steps, Traeth Llyfn is a sandy beach on the Pembrokeshire's west coast between Porthgain and Abereiddy. With no road access, it's a beach which never gets crowded even in the height of the summer. There are strong undercurrents - and no lifeguard - so this isn't a suitable beach for young or inexperienced swimmers. As the tide comes in parts of the beach can become cut off from the steps, so knowing the tide times is useful.
