This remote chapel was built in the 1820s by the minister of Tregaron, Ebenezer Richard. Standing by the River Camddwr, at the time it was built the road to Llandovery would have also run past. Construction in the early 1970s of the Llyn Brianne reservoir flooded the Cammdwr valley, and the northern extermity of the reservoir is now only a few hundred metres downstream from Soar y Mynydd.
