The 'High Sheriff of Gwynedd' steam train about to leave Tywyn on the Talyllyn railway which runs a little over 7 miles, to near the foot of Cader Idris. Opened in 1886 to transport slate, the line was, in 1951, the first ever to be preserved as a heritage railway.
