The Llanfendigaid Estate has been owned by the Nanney-Wynn family and their forebears since the earliest records began in AD 1241. An estate map from 1780 shows that the original estate stretched along the Welsh coast from Harlech in the north to Aberystwyth in the south. However, since the collapse of many of the great British estates in the 1920s, Llanfendigaid Estate has gradually reduced in size to around 16 acres in the Snowdonia National Park on one of the most attractive stretches of the Welsh coastline.

The accommodation

The current owner, William Nanney-Wynn Garton-Jones, now operates the main estate house and the surrounding three cottages (Stable Cottage, Dove Cottage and The Cow Shed) as a top quality catered and self catering holiday establishment, complete with 28' x 14' indoor heated swimming pool together with easy access to one of the more secluded beaches in the area. There is shared professional outdoor table tennis table and for those that need to stay in touch, there is ultra high speed 100mbs synchronous broadband via leased line technology and distributed across the site by high speed Wifi.

In addition he has collected together artifacts and paintings owned by the family over several centuries to help give guests a truly memorable Welsh holiday experience.

The location

Llanfendigaid is situated at the southern end of Snowdonia National Park next to the sea on one of the less developed stretches of the Welsh coastline - but still within easy reach of shops in Tywyn and resorts like Aberdyfi. The Wales coastal path runs next to the property and the Cambrian coast railway is close by with access to Birmingham from the local station about a mile away.

Lots of things to do locally. Best to have a look at to decide what works best for you.
