The Church of St Llyr at Llanyre stands by the A4081 road between Llandrindod Wells and Newbridge on Wye. The original medieval church on this site is thought to have been similar in design to the one at nearby Llanfihangel Helygen. The current building dates from 1887, and the font is the only remnant from the earlier structure.
