The ornate clock tower atop of the town hall in Maesteg is the town's most visible landmark. In its heyday Maesteg Town Hall was considered one of south Wales' finest venues, and hosted a wide range of events including plays, concerts and a variety of public meetings. Now grade 2 listed, the hall is run independently from Bridgend Borough Council, and is a popular entertainments venue for residents of Maesteg and the Upper Llyfni Valley. The ground floor of the town hall houses Maesteg's indoor market.
