This sheltered, sandy south west facing cove is between Rhosneigr and Aberffraw. The English name for Porth Trecastell is Cable Bay, and it is so named because this is the place where telegraph cables linking Britain with Ireland and America reached land. When the conditions are right this is a popular surfing spot.
