Llywelyn the Great lived between 1173 and 1240. Throughout his reign he lived at Garth Celyn which is on the North Wales coast between Conwy and Bangor. A Prince of Gwynedd, Llywelyn ruled over most of Wales from 1216 onwards, using a combination of military strategy and diplomacy to achieve this. This statue of Llywelyn the Great stands in the centre of Conwy.
