The Centre for Alternative Technology shop is quite probably Britain's greenest. Occupying a low environmental impact 'rammed earth' building, it is first and foremost a bookshop, with a dizzying array of titles covering all aspects of the environmentalist spectrum on its shelves, from the practical to the political. It also stocks a range of ethically and environmentally friendly cards, solar powered devices and games, plus some things which are obligatory in a gift shop as well as some which aren't!
