Monmouth, Gwent

The spire of St Mary's rises to 60m, towering over the centre of the borders town of Monmouth. A church has stood here since 1101, as part of a Benedictine Priory. After disestablishment, the church went into decay, and Monmouth Priory was dissolved in 1536. The church was later restored in 1772, and further in 1882.
