Built in 1872 on the site of Knighton's old town hall, the clocktower is very similar in design to the one in Hay-on-Wye. It stands at the top of Broad Street, opposite Prince and Pugh's, the longstanding ironmonger, and next to 'The Chandos' - formerly the Chandos Hotel, which has since been an antique shop and is now the town's kebab house.
