Stables cottage has been renovated from an old farm barn, retaining original wooden beams and trusses, which combine with contemporary fixtures and fittings to create welcoming, quality accommodation in a wonderful quiet setting.

The accommodation

The accommodation is all on the ground floor.

Two bedrooms: king-size double with en-suite (shower, basin and wc) and a family room with three single beds with family shower room.

Spacious, open plan living area with fitted kitchen, dining area and sitting area.

Electric central heating. Electric oven, ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, washing machine, dishwasher, TV with smart tv box, DVD, super fast wifi. Large enclosed front yard with furniture and views over village and wooded hills. Owner's quiet village inn 30 seconds' walk

Electricity and bed linen included in rent. Cot and highchair by prior arrangement. Off road parking for 3 cars. Sorry, no pets and no smoking. Shop 5 miles.

The location

We can be found in the centre of Wales providing a perfect location to explore and travel this wonderful country. Perfect spot to walk from with national walking trail on the doorstep Abbeycwmhir Community Heritage Walks were launched in September 2021.

These 4 walks range from a local walk around the Village with accompanying heritage information, to our longest walk which is approximately 7 miles with 1000ft of ascent all starting and finishing in the village.

. We are a long way off the beaten track so your own transport is essential. There are many things to see and do with the Red Kites overhead and an abundance of wildlife. We live amongst the farming community which provides us with the glorious landscape and of course the many sheep.

Our area

Abbeycwmhir has the ruins of the old abbey to explore and also the beautiful village church and you might see the blue lady a ghost within the church yard. This is an ideal base to explore the rest of mid Wales and is within easy travel distance for a taste of some of the exciting flavours of the area including:

Rhayader - red kite feeding station, Welsh Royal Crystal workshops and the Elan valley resevoirs. Leisure Centre with swimming pool.

Builth Wells - the Royal Welsh Showground's venue to year-round events and another historic spa town. Cinema.

Llandrindod Wells- Victorian Festival and spa town.

Brecon- home of the annual August Jazz Festival, Brecon Cathedral, Brecon Castle, Brecon to Monmouth Canal and gateway to the Brecon Breacons National Park.

We are also within easy distance of Powis Castle, Dan-yr-Ogof showcaves, Judges Lodgings and the Space centre. There is also a kids' soft play centre (Quackers) within 25 mins for those rainy days.
