Tailors cottage is situated in Abbey Cwm Hir (abbey in the long valley), a picturesque village tucked away in the Radnorshire hills with character and history, including the ruins of a Cistercian abbey where it is believed the headless body of Prince Llewellyn (the last native Prince of Wales) is buried. Cistercian monks founded the abbey in 1143 and liked to build in secluded places thus the village sits hidden away from the "outside world" nestling amongst the tree covered hills. Glyndwr's way national walking trail and 4 local heritage walking trails and national cycle route 25 pass through the village making it a perfect base for walking, cycling and exploring Mid Wales. The market town of Rhayader and the Elan Valley is 6 miles and the spa town of Llandrindod Wells is 9 miles. The coast is 40 miles.
The village also has a lovely church with beautiful stained glass windows. We still also have a village Pub and post office. This cottage is ideal for people who want to get away from it all and enjoy the tranquility of a breathtaking yet undiscovered area.
