On Pembrokeshire's south coast, Saundersfoot is blessed with a wide sandy beach and is a popular resort. Its harbour was originally built in the early 19th Century for shipping locally mined anthracite, and later for iron ore, raw iron and firebricks. The jetty, originally built by the Bonville Court mine, is now a car park, and in summer many pleasure craft are moored here.
