Head of the Rhondda Valley

Where once the valley floor was completely occupied by coal mining, nature is once more taking over, but it will be a long time until it looks like it did before 1869 when the Fernhill Colliery Company sunk its first shaft at the head of the Rhondda Fawr valley.
