The Granary is a comfortable and spacious cottage on the Llyn Peninsula, located in a secluded countryside setting within easy reach of all beaches on the Western Llyn, including Whistling Sands, Hells Mouth and Porth Colmon.
Centrally located near to Aberdaron, Abersoch and Pwllheli, it is ideal for family holidays or a romantic getaway. Views from the Granary are breathtaking with the grounds offering triple aspect views to the sea, mountains and open farmland.
The Llyn Peninsula is an area of outstanding natural beauty that retains a unique Welsh charm and character that appeals to all ages. The peninsula also enjoys a unique micro climate, benefiting from the gulf-stream, bringing warmer sea temperatures and weather.
The Granary shares two acres of gardens with Penllech Farmhouse, providing plenty of outdoor space. The interior benefits from central heating and comfortably sleeps four in two rooms; a large bedroom with a king size bed and a separate mezzanine floor which has two single beds. There is an en suite shower room to the master bedroom and a separate WC. The spacious lounge has a log burner and adjoins the open plan, fully equipped kitchen. There is a double bed settee in the lounge providing additional sleeping space, if required. This is available on request. A separate dining area seats six people. To the rear is an external private raised patio leading to the garden area, the perfect place to sit and enjoy the magnificent distant sea views across open countryside.
The quaint seaside village of Aberdaron is 5 miles from the Granary, Pwllheli is 11 miles and Abersoch is 7 miles. The main bus route between Pwllheli and Aberdaron passes the end of the drive.
The peninsula is a popular area for a wide range of activities including walking, fishing, golf, bird watching, diving, surfing and other water sports. The main bus route between Pwllheli (11 miles) and the quaint and unspoilt village of Aberdaron (5 miles) passes the end of the long drive leading down to the property. The closest village Sarn Mellteyrn is approximately one mile from the property and has two local pubs that serve excellent beers and food. Many of the local pubs are pet friendly, having areas where you can relax and dine inside in the company of your pets. Aberdaron is a quaint unspoilt village with a fabulous beach and a selection of places to eat or just enjoy a hot drink. This includes two excellent pub restaurants, a superb fish and chip shop and a choice of cafes, all highly recommended!
Morfa Nefyn is a 15 minute drive and boasts a fabulous 18 hole golf links, and Porth Dinllaen beach which features Ty Coch inn a beach pub that regularly ranks in the top three beach pubs in the world.
Nearby Nefyn has a micro-brewery which offers a tour of the brewery during the months of the summer season and all year round service in the bar, selling an excellent range of beer brewed in the premises.
The peninsula itself offers a host of convenient walks and many beaches and coves to explore, but for the more ambitious walkers and explorers Snowdonia and Barmouth are less than an hours drive from the cottage. The coastal path is popular with walkers and rightly so, as this provides an excellent vantage point for spotting marine activity, including dolphins or porpoise or a wealth of sea birds or birds of prey.
Pwllheli offers a wide range of eating establishments and a good selection of shops and supermarkets. Market days in the town are Wednesdays and Sundays, and there is an indoor swimming pool and excellent beaches.
"Had a wonderful few days in The Granary, a real home from home. Keith and Kathryn are fantastic hosts. We will certainly be coming to visit North Wales again!!! Thanks for everything"
"Spent a fantastic bank holiday weekend in The Granary - wow, it was just super. Immaculate, cosy and everything you could need and more. Keith and Kathryn made us feel so welcome and are amazing hosts. Beautiful place and certainly hope to visit again for more chilled out times. A huge thank you for such a lovely time "
"Fantastic week stay at The Granary. You couldn't ask for better hosts than Kath & Keith! 5 star accommodation and surroundings full of personal touches! I want to live here!!! "
"We felt very much as though we were staying with friends rather than in a holiday cottage. Keith and Kath have been so welcoming and made our 'family honeymoon' so special (and the children have loved playing with Blaise every day). Thank you for such a wonderful time. We're looking forward to coming again."
"Definitely a home away from home. Thank you Keith and Kath for a memorable short weekend. Your special touches made it even more special!"
"Perfect, perfect, perfect! The only way to describe The Granary, Kath and Keith and the whole of our stay on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula! We have had a wonderful time, beautiful walks, stunning scenery and excellent food. Thank you so much Kath and Keith - you made us feel like you were welcoming friends rather than guests - and even took us on the guided tour for the beautiful sunset. Thank you too for welcoming our Border Terriers, Ted and Tilly. We will definitely be back."
"So happy to return to The Granary. We have had so many years of happy holidays here and the past week will be added to the collection. We think about this place as a home for rest, relaxation and comfort with all the beautiful scenery and seascapes the Llyn has to offer. Many thanks to Kath and Keith for making our favourite holiday destination possible again."
"Very pleased on arrival, the cottage exceeded our expectations whilst booking. Kath and Keith could not be better hosts, they cannot do enough for you. We had a perfect New Year here at The Granary. Thanks so much for everything and we loved the goodies on arrival. See you very soon."
We love it here so much we came back a few weeks later. Again the welcome could not be better, lovely goodies for us all on arrival. We love staying at The Granary and we love the area, I think we'll become regulars here."
