See salmon leaping in the river in September, and red kites circling overhead.

There are walks right from the door, although Mill House can also serve as an ideal base from which to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park, or venture eastwards to explore the pretty book town of Hay on Wye (15 miles).

The cottage has a cedar wood hot tub on the patio for the exclusive use of guests.

The accommodation

Mill House is a detached stone property in a tranquil setting in a small hamlet 5 miles north of Brecon, and features original exposed beams and oil-powered central heating throughout. The entrance porch opens into the living room with a real fire (starter pack of wood provided for log-burning stove), sumptuous comfy sofas and a large widescreen smart TV with fibreoptic wifi, bluray/dvd player and internet radio.

There is a well-fitted kitchen with oven and hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, washer/dryer and dishwasher, and a breakfast bar area with stools overlooking the river. A landline telephone is provided (payment for calls via honesty box). All rooms overlook the river and field opposite.

There is a large dining room with plenty of seating for meals, which leads to the fully-enclosed secure patio and pretty balcony areas which both overlook the river (care with young children please). Great for relaxing with a drink and a good book (or a pair of binoculars).

Upstairs, there are three well-furnished bedrooms: a main double bedroom with river views, a single bedroom with en suite featuring toilet, washbasin and power shower; a third single bedroom with river views; and the main tiled bathroom with fitted vanity units. An extra adult single foldable bed is also available.

There is free parking for one car at the front of the cottage, and additional free off-road parking is available 50 yards away beside a bridge over the stream. Up to two dogs are welcome at no extra charge.

Please note that Mill House is a non-smoking cottage.

As well as a small balcony overlooking the pretty river, the cottage also enjoys a private, enclosed patio area complete with seating, table and chiminea to allow al fresco dining. A new luxury cedar wood hot tub has been installed in 2017 for the exclusive use of cottage guests (by using the hot tub, guests are deemed to have agreed to the Terms of Use on display at the cottage). This luxurious hot tub is designed for your comfort and relaxation with its twin-speed jets including dual foot massagers, whirlpool and waterfall features, dual filtration, a powerful heater, variable height seating and LED lights set in a compact stylish design within a classic, solid cedar wood cabinet.
