Set off a quiet lane on a working farm just to the south of Llandrindod Wells, Holly Cottage is a great base for rural relaxation and exploring the wonderful countryside of Mid Wales.
Adjoining the farmhouse, this traditional farm cottage looks over unspoilt farmland, and French doors open onto the lawned front garden. To the side is your own private patio area with outdoor furniture and a barbecue. Guests will enjoy the sights and sounds of the countryside through the seasons.
The accommodation is a spacious, well equipped and comfortably furnished, so you can feel at home as soon as you arrive. There's wifi internet access throughout, and central heating for cooler times of the year.
On the ground floor is the large kitchen which has an electric cooker, slimline dishwasher, microwave, fridge, kettle and toaster, and a dining table to seat four. The living room overlooks the front garden and has a leather three piece suite, freeview television and woodburner. Adjoining the living room is the dining room, which has a large dining table and seating for six people. At the foot of the stairs is a shower room with loo, as well as a utility room with sink and cupboards, a capacious fridge-freezer and the washing machine.
Upstairs are three bedrooms. The master bedroom, at the front of the house, has a double bed, washbasin, and television. There's also a spacious twin bedroom, which also has a washbasin and television, and a compact bunk twin bedroom which is ideal for children. The family bathroom has a bath with shower over.
Were about two miles from the Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells, county town of Powys, which has supermarkets, banks, shops, pubs and eateries, and plenty more to explore including the famous Rock Park to which visitors once flocked to take the spa waters. A footpath from close to Holly Farm runs to the edge of the town, so on a fine day you might prefer to leave the car and go on foot - it only takes 20 minutes or so.
The village of Howey is just a few minutes walk, and has a pub - The Laughing Dog - as well as The Drovers Thai restaurant.
The Wye Valley town of Builth Wells, home to the Royal Welsh showground which hosts many events across the year, is about 6 miles to the south.
There are so many other places to visit while youre in our peaceful part of Wales: the Victorian reservoirs of the Elan Valley, the Brecon Beacons, the secondhand book capital Hay-on-Wye, and the border towns of Knighton and Presteigne are all within easy reach for a day out.
