Were about two miles from the Victorian spa town of Llandrindod Wells, county town of Powys, which has supermarkets, banks, shops, pubs and eateries, and plenty more to explore including the famous Rock Park to which visitors once flocked to take the spa waters. A footpath from close to Holly Farm runs to the edge of the town, so on a fine day you might prefer to leave the car and go on foot - it only takes 20 minutes or so.
The village of Howey is just a few minutes walk, and has a pub - The Laughing Dog - as well as The Drovers Thai restaurant.
The Wye Valley town of Builth Wells, home to the Royal Welsh showground which hosts many events across the year, is about 6 miles to the south.
There are so many other places to visit while youre in our peaceful part of Wales: the Victorian reservoirs of the Elan Valley, the Brecon Beacons, the secondhand book capital Hay-on-Wye, and the border towns of Knighton and Presteigne are all within easy reach for a day out.
