Most of the most gorgeous coastal walks in Gower are possible from the front door of our Cottage.
Walk Llanmadoc Hill and from it see views to Brecon Beacons, Pembrokeshire, Tenby, Worms Head and even North Devon.
Walk down onto Llanmadoc Beach / Broughton Beach, Whitford Sands. Whitford Dunes. Walk up Stembridge Valley (wooded limestone valley ), walk the Wales Coastal Path North Gower and West Gower.
Visit pretty villages on the sea such as Port Eynon, Oxwich, Rhossili, Penmaen, and Three CLiffs, Pennard Cliffs, Langland Bay, Caswell Bay, and Mumbles.
Our beaches at Llanmadoc/Broughton are reknowned for being sparsely used and empty, clean sand, shallow safe warm waters, and you often see a seal in the sea. Even dolphins are not unknown in the estuary/bay.
You can walk to Rhossilli Village in a morning. That is a gorgeous walk of around to 3 hrs depending on route, walking speed and weather.
The local bus stops in llanmadoc every hour. It is possible to get to both Rhossili and Port Eynon from Llanmadoc by bus.
There's so much to discover and enjoy locally as Gower is such a beautiful corner of Wales. Llanmadoc Hill is well worth a climb to see the sweeping sea views, shared by the small ponies who live there. As well as our nearest pub which serves food, the dog friendly Britannia Inn which is a short walk from the cottage, there's also the Greyhound Inn (Oldwalls, Llanrhidian), The KIngs Head (llangennith) - both dog friendly and both 5 mins by car - or The King Arthur Hotel in Reynoldston (10 mins drive), which doesn't allow dogs inside, but does provide bowls of water and a safe place where you can tie leads.
The local beach Whitford is about a 20 minutes scenic walk away, and the beaches at Oxwich, Port Eynon and Rhossili are about 20 minutes drive. Three Cliffs Bay beach is just 10 minutes by car.
The best beaches for surfing are Llangennith and Broughton Bay both just a 10 minutes drive away.
The village of Mumbles is a 25-30 minutes by car.
Go to our owner's own to read these.
Free off road parking to the front gate. Detailed directions are found on the booking form. Parking is in a private off road parking compound (gravel area inside a farm gate with house sign on it). We rarely bother to close the farm gate.
The owners of Gower Cottage (your hosts ) park their cars besides your own parking spaces.
Friendly owners live next door at Gower Cottage (see aerial photo) so should you have any questions during your stay, or if you'd lke to know a little more about the local area, we are happy to advise. We do provide a map.

DEPOSITS
We ask for a deposit of 30% on booking and your balance is
due two calendar months prior to arrival.
(Payment by BACS or Cheque).
Cancellations Policy
DEPOSITS
We ask for a deposit of 30% on booking (we are happy to wait for the deposit payment for 7 days after the date on which you confirm a booking).
Payment by BACS or Cheque. We unfortunately do not have facility to take credit cards.
BALANCE
The 70% balance is due two calendar months prior to arrival (payment methods as above). If the date you make the booking is already within two months of arrival then the full balance is immediately due.
Example: if you book on either the 5th or 17th March for a week's stay on 30th May then you will only need to pay a 30% deposit and then settle the balance by 30th March. But if you book on 30th March for the same 30th May stay, the full balance is immediately due.
CANCELLATIONS – A SIMPLE AND FAIR POLICY
One benefit of booking with us directly and not via one of the major booking systems is that we can be more helpful when it comes to cancellations.
THE CANCELLATION POLICY
If you cancel closer than two calendar months of arrival date our chances of re-advertising and getting a booking greatly diminish (experience tells us) so in this scenario (you cancel closer than 2 calendar months prior to arrival) - then unless we can rebook - unfortunately you can expect to lose your entire booking fee as paid.
We do not want this to happen to you. So please consider annual travel insurance that covers you for UK holidays and covers you for the unexpected.
If you cancel within two months of arrival and if we do re-book your stay dates (or some of your stay dates) we promise we will repay you 100% of whatever we receive from the replacement booking.
If you cancel more than *2 months prior to arrival (*see note) we will refund you in full, no strings attached, including your deposit. These are better terms than any of the large holiday cottage booking companies. We hope this is fair.
(note: *Two calendar months or longer if your arrival date was 12th August and you cancel by or on 12th June we will refund you in full. After 12th June any refund will be dependent on any replacement booking we manage to attract. )
Why we feel this is a good policy for you as Guests
If you cancel and we get a replacement booking we do not retain a spurious and questionable "admin fee" or "re-advertising fee" like the big chains. Furthermore, and very significantly, most other operators never refund the deposit element of the fee, regardless of when you cancel. Finally, many operators require a longer cancellation gap than our "Two Month" requirement rule.
We obviously still have to protect ourselves from unfair / un-insured cancellations, ones that we feel are made so close to the arrival date that we do not have realistic time, based on our experience, to advertise and re-book. This period is two months.
Our policy is fair, reasonable, stated in writing and is clear and in our opinion is far more forgiving for guests than the cancellaton policies you will find with other operators/cottages/chains/holiday companies. We feel this system fairly shares the cancellation risk between ourselves and our guests and offers one of the main benefits of booking with the owners of a small holiday cottage business directly.
Our prices range from £425 to £640 and it is very much depending on what part of the year you book. See owners for details on exact prices and dates available.
