Afon Rhaiadr Country House B&B is at the foot of Cader Idris, on the outskirts of Dolgellau in the heart of Snowdonia.
This lovely Victorian house has recently been refurbished and is stylishly decorated throughout with chandeliers and luxurious soft furnishings. A candle-lit dining room, elegant cosy drawing room with doors to the gardens and conservatory, furnished with an eclectic mix including Victorian and Edwardian antiques. All bedrooms are sumptuously decorated and have luxury bathrooms. There is ample seating around the gardens for you to enjoy and a woodland walk over the waterfall bridge and Victorian pool for the more adventurous. The popular area of Coed y Brenin is only a short distance away, which is a great example of the natural wonders of Snowdon.
Afon Rhaiadr Country House – loosely translates to ‘house by the river and waterfall’ and uses an old spelling of Rhaeadr (waterfall). You may find it easier to pronounce it as ‘Avon Ryader’.
A warm welcome awaits, from Martin (award-winning chef proprietor), Jan, Emma (beautiful but nutty cocker spaniel) and puppy Jess (adorable).
Candle-lit fine dining will be available from Spring 2013 when we have completed the refurbishment of the kitchen to Martin's high standards - he is planning to offer exclusive cookery demonstrations and classes in due course.
