Aberfforest is a beautiful cove nestled on the award-winning Pembrokeshire coastal path. This stretch of coastline is a popular breeding and hunting ground for seals and dolphins, which can be seen from the bay. A stunning waterfall, surrounded by ancient woodland, leads down to the beach which is fabulous for swimming, sailing, kayaking and rock-pooling.
Just 150 yards up from the beach is Barnacle Cottage, a sympathetically and thoughtfully refurbished stone barn. This characterful and cosy cottage is a delightful and excellent base for exploring this part of the Pembrokeshire coast national park.
The property retains much of its original character with exposed beams, feature stone and whitewashed walls and is furnished in soft, neutral tones and blues to reflect the sea and shoreline.
The vaulted, open-plan living space offers a cool retreat from the heat on hot, summer days and features a wonderful woodburning stove for cosying up on chillier evenings.
The enclosed front patio is a perfect suntrap and an ideal spot to enjoy an alfresco meal. Not to be missed is stargazing the truly impressive night sky whilst the chimeneas keeps you warm.
The brand new well-equipped kitchen should provide everything you need.
The bedrooms are simple, stylish and comfortable. All the beds are new with Egyptian cotton sheets.
The refurbished bathroom is a delightful place to relax and unwind, especially with its feet-warming underfloor heating.
There is a private driveway leading to the property. The cottage sits alongside a handful of other cottages at the end of the track, which winds through a working dairy farm and a horse-racing yard.
The bay, which can only be approached by the general public along the coastal path or by boat, is almost private with launching facilities by prior arrangement. The cottage is 150 yards from the beach.
