Located in a tranquil rural setting, Cantref House offers easy access to a variety of walking trails for all levels, right from the doorstep, including routes leading to Pen y Fan. The Taff Trail, a popular national cycling route, is just a mile away, and horse riding is available a short 5-minute walk from the property. The area also boasts numerous scenic drives, perfect for exploring the stunning landscapes.

The accommodation

Guests have a private entrance, separate from the main house, accessible via 26 outdoor steps. The spacious and well-appointed living area includes a comfortable lounge with two sofas, Sky TV, a DVD player, and a reading lamp, all offering stunning views of Pen y Fan and Cribyn. The kitchen is fully equipped with a fridge, freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, induction hob, oven, microwave, kettle, toaster, and ample utensils and crockery. There's also a shower room with a toilet and a cosy double bedroom featuring a king-size bed.

The apartment includes an outdoor balcony where you can relax and enjoy the views, as well as access to the front lawn, with table and chairs available for your use. A designated parking space is located just below the outdoor steps for your convenience.

Enjoy a a serene escape amidst the breathtaking scenery of the Brecon Beacons, designated as a dark sky reserve, offering unobstructed views of the night sky. To enhance your stargazing experience, a telescope is available for guest use. There are plenty of walks or hikes direct from the doostep of varying lengths and gradients. For cylclists we are located just a mile of The Taff Trail National Cycle Route.

It's also near Hay-on-Wye, famous for its annual literary festival, and other charming towns like Crickhowell and Abergavenny, offering plenty of cultural and recreational activities.

Travel info

As we are in a rural area, having a car is recommended for your convenience. However, public transport is available, and most major supermarkets offer grocery delivery to the property.

You can take a mainline train to Abergavenny or Cardiff, then catch a bus to Brecon or Llanfrynach, which is just over a mile away. From Llanfrynach, it's a pleasant walk along country lanes to reach us.
