A stone wall and garden fence completely ring the property ensuring children are able to play safely in the outside areas.

Following complete renovation, Uwch Afon is presented to a superb standard with off road parking, open plan living space, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, garden and terrace providing exceptional accommodation for up to 8 people.

The rivers Colwyn and Glaslyn converge in Beddgelert before continuing down the valley to provide beautiful, easily accessible, riverside walks with more strenuous walking routes all around including Snowdon itself.

Porthmadog and Criccieth with their lovely beaches and coastal paths are just a short drive away with the gorgeous Llyn Peninsula a little further.

The accommodation

Uwch Afon is presented to the highest standard with gas central heating and double glazing throughout, plentiful hot water storage, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave and range cooker with induction hob, two electric ovens and grill.

Off road parking for two large cars (SUVs), open plan living on the ground floor, four bedrooms, two bathrooms, garden and terrace provides spacious accommodation for up to eight people.

To the rear is a southwest facing terrace running the full length of the cottage, expanding into a garden area, and overlooking the river with open views beyond. This is a particular joy of the cottage as the terrace enjoys full sun all day and is perfect for secure outdoor family time.

The bedrooms are one king bedroom, one queen bedroom, one adult-sized bunk bedroom and a bedroom with two adult-sized single beds. The upstairs bathroom, with shower above bath, and downstairs shower room with WC, basin and large shower enclosure provides adequate welfare arrangements for everyone.

The open plan ground floor comprises solid oak flooring and worktops throughout, kitchen with large island, dining and lounge areas. The lounge area holds three leather sofas, large TV, DVD player and multi-fuel burner with coal provided.

The location

Beddgelert village is the jewel of Snowdonia perfectly located for glorious and varied scenery and walks and just a few miles from Porthmadog and Criccieth and some fantastic beaches and coastal walks. Porthmadog is home to several supermarkets.

Beddgelert village itself provides great hospitality with four public houses (all serving food), a well stocked grocery store incorporating the post office, several cafes and craft shops and an award winning ice cream parlour.

The heritage steam railway running between Caernarfon and Porthmadog stops in Beddgelert and the copper mines on the edge of Beddgelert are an interesting attraction.

Many beautiful walks start from the front door of Uwch Afon including short, easily accessible, walks along the river to and beyond St Mary's church and the grave of Gelert (the faithful hound of a medieval prince) with plentiful and perfect picnic and paddling places along the way. Continuing further along the river to complete the longer circular walk of Plas Gwynant is particularly spectacular taking in breathtaking views of the river, coast, steam railway, and the peaks of Snowdonia.

For the more serious walkers Watkin's path leading to the summit of Snowdonia starts just 2 miles away.

Porthmadog and black rock sands (a huge expanse of perfect beach) lie 5 miles away with Criccieth, the Llyn peninsula and Angelsey, with all their attractions, all within easy reach.

It is hard to find a more perfect cottage and location for enjoying Beddgelert, the delights of Snowdonia and the north and northwest coastlines of Wales.
