Great for breaks, our area has superb scenery and is steeped in history. Close to Merthyr Tydfil, the Brecon Beacons are on our doorstep, ideal for hill walking or cycling cycling.

The accommodation

Ramp access via French doors. Spacious open plan sitting, dining and kitchen area. Two and three seater sofas. Dining table and four chairs. Wall mounted 42 plasma tv and dvd player. Fitted kitchen, worktop height 930mm with drop door oven, microwave oven, fridge freezer.

One double bedroom with wardrobes, bedside table, lamp and radio alarm clock. One twin bedroom (second bed is pull-out) with bedside table, lamp and radio alarm clock.

Luxury shower room with wash basin, toilet and bidet.

Access to large patio area via main and side entrance compliant with DDA.

Barbecue and garden furniture provided. Unsupervised children's play area.

Cot and high chair available on request. Bed linen and towels provided, all beds are made up for guests.

Open daily for all tourist information and maps 8am until 8pm.

The reception area is located within the owners' residence (15 metres from chalet), and as the owners live on site, they are available to assist whenever possible.

Winchfawr Lodge is popular for those seeking breaks in a region of Wales with officially recognised scenery and is steeped in history. Close to Merthyr Tydfil - the largest ironworks town in the world at the turn of the century - which has lots of historic places to visit.

Within easy reach by car are the many attractions of South Wales.

The Cardiff to Brecon Taff Trail is only 10 minutes away with the Brecon Mountain Railway only 15 minutes away. For those looking for scenic trails or hill walking or even cycling this is your ideal place, with trails available to suit all levels of hiking or cycling.
