The Barn at Pengwern Farm is a newly renovated spacious stone barn situated on a working farm on the Gower Peninsula, approximately 8 miles from Swansea.
Pengwern Farm is located at the heart of Gower, giving easy access to all of its beaches within a 15 minute drive, whilst still remaining within 10 minutes of Killay, which has two supermarkets, banking facilities and other amenities.
The working farm is set within its own land and is 500 yards off the main road giving the ideal setting for an unforgettable holiday. Add to this the uninterrupted views over the Gower area, direct access into massive National Trust woodland and moorland areas on the doorstep, and it's ideal for those who wish to walk, cycle, bird watch, surf, swim, fish and pony trek to name but a few of the activities on offer.
Also situated within 10 minutes of Pengwern there are five 18 hole golf courses which offer different types of course from parkland (Fairwood) to links (Pennard), at varying degrees of difficulty.
There is ample, safe off road parking for vehicles and secure storage for bicycles.
There are two barn conversions next to each other and are therefore suitable for parties who wish to holiday together. The Barn leeps 6 people and The Tractor House sleeps 6.
The Barn has been recently converted to provide a high standard of accommodation for up to 6 people. It comprises:
Three bedrooms - one with king size bed and an en-suite bathroom, one double bedded room and one twin bedded room. There is also another bathroom with shower, shaver point, wc and wash hand basin (as the ensuite).
The Barn has ceramic floors throughout with underfloor heating. This heating and the hot water are provided by an ecologically friendly heat pump system.
Fully equipped kitchen with ceramic hobs/electric oven, microwave, fridge freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Step down into the open plan vaulted and beamed living area: with an Aga multifuel stove, leather sofas, dining table with 6 chairs, wall mounted digital tv with freeview and dvd player. Pengwern Farm is sure to satisfy everyone, from those who prefer the peace and tranquility of the countryside, to those who are looking for a more energetic and active holiday. The Gower Peninsula, Britain's first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, offers visitors a range of activities throughout the year.
There are a vast number of beaches, some of which are more easily accessed and are manned by lifeguards for example Langland and Caswell, others such as Llangennith are popular for surfing, several are more secluded, but well worth the walk.
The Gower Peninsula is an ideal area for those that enjoy outdoor holidays. It has a range of footpaths and bridleways suitable for walking, mountain biking and horse-riding through a diverse range of landscapes - along spectacular clifftops, through picturesque villages, rolling countryside, hills, valleys, commons, woodland, dunes and marshes. The area has an historic past and has many ancient sites, monuments, caves, castles at Pennard, Oxwich and Woebley and landmarks to visit including King Arthur's Stone.
In Parkmill, 5 minutes drive, you have the choice of an old working watermill with many other attractions for the younger members of the family, or one of the many horse riding facilities in the area. Further a field, at Perriswood just 10 minutes drive away there is an archery and wild bird centre.
