Please note that we only accept bookings from couples aged 18 and over. Short breaks, minimum 3 nights will be considered.
Would accept a couple with a young baby but sadly for safety reasons, no children. This is because we have a very large, unfenced pond in close proximity to the caravan setting making it a safety hazard. We do accept dogs, but only 2 small breeds or 1 medium breed, however always ask if your canine friend is a little bit bigger than medium! Some basic dog owner rules will apply.
This is a lovely, modern and spacious double glazed and gas centrally heated caravan with long, low windows making it very light and airy. It is set on a private smallholding where we breed Welsh Cob horses and Shire horses. Accessed immediately as you turn into our private driveway off the public lane. It is set in a small wooded area which encourages wildlife including an abundance of birds.
An ideal base for enthusiastic walkers, cyclists, bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts or couples who want to explore the fantastic Pembrokeshire beaches and rugged Pembrokeshire coastal path which are not too far away. The picturesque Fishguard harbour town is only 5 minutes drive and the ferry port of Goodwick with daily crossings over to Ireland is close by too. There are small supermarkets, pubs, restaurants and a laundrette. The larger market town of Haverfordwest is a 20 minute drive away and the smallest Cathedral city of St David's, an absolute treasure, is 25 minutes away. The town of Cardigan is also only 40 minutes drive away and well worth a visit.
The caravan is accessed via a few concrete steps at either end onto a lovely decked area with patio table and chairs to enjoy the morning and evening sun if you wish to dine al fresco in the good weather. It has a small grassed area at the back of the caravan. It is set alongside our own small wooded area, it is the only one in our grounds, so you have a little more privacy. A small portable barbeque is also available. There is a fixed metal storage shed where wellies, walking boots, wet coats can be stored and small deckchairs and beach equipment if required. The caravan is well maintained and fully equipped with all mod cons including one bathroom with a step in large shower cubicle, toilet and washbasin and a second small bathroom with toilet and washbasin.
There is 1 lovely double bedroom with plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space and a dressing table. Connecting door off into the bathroom area.
The second bedroom has one single bed making it easier to move around in rather than having 2 single beds which can make room minimal.
The open plan kitchen area has plenty of cupboard space and work surface area for serving up meals with a gas built in cooker and gas 4 ring hob with extractor fan, microwave, fridge and separate 3 drawer freezer, toaster and kettle and is fully equipped with all kitchen utensils, cutlery and crockery.
Good size dining table and 4 chairs.
In the sitting area there are 2 comfortable sofas and an armchair. A a gas fire in this area provides additional heating.
There is a flat screen tv with freesat box so plenty of channels to choose from. Plenty of cupboard space also in this area.
Free Wifi is available, but signal can sometimes be a little weak. There are a good selection of books and and a few board games.
We do welcome dogs in the caravan, but only 2 smaller or 1 medium sized. Exercising them in the woods is allowed, but they must be kept on a lead at all times, unless by prior arrangement with ourselves as we have dogs of our own.
The caravan is sited within the grounds of our large open garden and has limited views from the sitting room area over the valley beyond and surrounding woodland and seasonal pond. During your stay you will be able to access the woodland via grass paths from the caravan and there is a seating area by the seasonal pond. During spells of wet weather, the pond becomes very full but sadly during dry weather it recedes greatly. It is unfenced, to encourage wildlife. There is an area of wild woodland which we keep in its natural state.
If you are looking for a more private, relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle of a larger site, then this truly is the place for you!
A short drive away are the stunning beaches of Pembrokeshire and the breathtaking coastal path.
One and a half miles from Fishguard town harbour with all its amenities which include a superb leisure centre, small cinema and a few public houses, cafes and restaurants. and a laundrette. Ferry service for day trips to Ireland available also from nearby Goodwick harbour. A few miles further afield are centres for sporting enthusiasts who like golf, horse riding, coasteering, sailing and other organised activities.
There is a public house, "The Gate", within walking distance, about 3/4 mile on the A40 main road. Food is also served there. Also within walking distance there is a lovely garden cafe, "The Red Onion Cafe" which serves light lunches and afternoon tea from produce all sourced in a sustainable manner.
Other attractions in stunning Pembrokeshire include 31 award-winning beaches, around 200 miles of unspoilt coastal path, the picturesque Preseli Mountains, Oakwood, Wales largest theme park, Heatherton outdoor pursuits centre, many historic castles and gardens, and lots more.
This will be our first season doing holiday letting with the caravan for a few years now as we wanted to replace the older less modern caravan with a more up to date model, so no recent visitors comments are available. It was always a big hit with visitors in the past due to its off site location.
The caravan is easily accessed in a vehicle from the A40 Haverfordwest to Fishguard road or from the A487 Newport to Fishguard road. Sat nav is very accurate in finding us. Our caravan is along a lane of smallholdings and open fields, it is very easy to find us as we have cream painted entrance walls with large Cwyrhymni Welsh Cob horse signs on them. Cars can be parked immediately outside the caravan on the gravel driveway. However, it is easier to access the opening driving in forwards and there is enough space at the front of the caravan to reverse round to face forwards again.
Prices will vary according to the time of the year. Short breaks of 3 nights or more may be available as and when and will be posted on the site, but please do always enquire. May consider 2 nights if bookings are low.
