Maesglas

This spacious detached cottage lies in an ideal location for outdoor lovers, as well as providing the perfect environment for recuperating after a long day. In the winter, relax in front of the wood burning stove in the inglenook. In the summer, enjoy the surrounding beautiful scenery and abundant wildlife and listen to the sound of the birds and the river.

The accommodation

Although its original character remains, the cottage is tastefully decorated and has all modern facilities. Central heating is also available for those cold winter months (£30 supplement). Both lounges have Sky tv (independent of each other) so ideal for the extended family.

Downstairs - a cosy lounge diner with a wood burner in the inglenook. Fully equipped oak kitchen and spacious family lounge with games table and gas(wood effect) burner. Laundry room (washing machine and tumble dryer) and downstairs toilet.

Upstairs - three bedrooms: a double, a single and family room with double and single. Upstairs toilet with bath and shower.

Both the lounge diner and the family lounge have direct access on to the patio with it's picnic table, which overlooks the cottage garden and acres of farmland. Private parking available for two cars.

Bed linen, towels and initial supply of logs are provided.

The location

Maesglas is set in it's own grounds and does not have any close neighbours. There is ample parking for 2-3 cars. The village of Mallwyd(4 miles) has basic groceries and supermarkets can be found at Welshpool, Dolgellau and Machynlleth (16miles). There are several bars and restaurants in the area but bot within walking distance.

Our area

Easily accessible, yet secluded, this cottage is in an elevated position 5 miles from Mallwyd, close to a tributary of the Dyfi River. Snowdonia's southern area offers wonderful walking and bird watching, whilst nearby Aran Fawddwy and Cader Idris provide opportunities for climbers. The beaches of Aberdovey, Barmouth, Ynys Las and Fairbourne are only a 30 minute drive.
