Rose Cottage is everything that you could hope for when you imagine a romantic, stone farmhouse. It is set on a working farm, in the hamlet of Lunnon, above Parkmill. Mentioned in the 1841 census as an Inn called 'The Sovereign', I'm sure that the cottage could tell a few tales, but more recently it was the farmhouse of Sunnyside Farm.
In the late 1990s the cottage was completely restored and upgraded.
The cottage sleeps six people in three bedrooms on the first floor; one double with ensuite shower room and two twin rooms. The twin rooms share the main bathroom which has a large Victorian roll top cast iron bath (that once collected rainwater for the farm's livestock to drink, but has now been fully restored.)
Both bath/shower rooms have electric shaver points. Bed linen is provided. Guests can choose whether to provide their own towels (at an extra charge). A cot and a highchair can be provided on request.
On the ground floor, there is a fully fitted farmhouse kitchen, complete with electric cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, kettle, toaster and cafetiere. Tea towels are provided as is rucksack for picnics. A separate utility room offers a washing machine and laundry facilities and access to a third toilet.
The dining room is simply but effectively furnished with a table and chairs and ornamental fireplace that compliment the exposed beams and flagstone floor. The lounge has a television, video, selection of video tapes suitable for children, a hifi, a three piece suite and an open log fire. If you wish to use the fire, logs can be provided (starter supply)
The cottage has oil fired central heating throughout and pets are welcome by arrangement with and at the discretion of the owners. A small fee will be charged per pet and owners must adhere to the conditions imposed due to the fact that the cottage is set on a working farm. Conditions of hire available. Access statement can be provided. Wifi internet.
Due to our central location, we are ideally positioned for Gower's beautiful beaches and country walks. Oxwich Bay can be reached by car in about 15 minutes, and the closest beach within walking distance is Three Cliffs Bay which is about 25 minutes walk.
The nearest shop for provisions is Shepherds in Parkmill - a 10 minute walk.
A deposit of 30% of the booking value is due when booking, and the balance is due six weeks before arrival.
