Moorshead Farm Cottages

Built in the 15th Century as the tenant farm to Plas Llanmihangel, a spectacular Norman house, Moorshead Farm stands between the prosperous market town of Cowbridge and historic Llantwit Major and the Heritage Coast. We are half a mile from the small village of Sigginston, where the Victoria Inn offers good beer and food.

The accommodation

Bwthyn y Dryw, sleeps 4 - The quarry tiled living room has a log burning stove as a focus for the sofa and chairs, made cosy with rugs and cushions. In summer you can turn to face the double glass doors leading to the garden with patio area, and open views across the Vale to the hills. There is a TV and video, and attractive dining suite. All rooms open off this central room. The compact kitchen is fully fitted with electric cooker and hood, fridge/freezer, washer/drier and microwave. The fully tiled bathroom has wc, basin and bath/shower. There are two bedrooms, one with a double bed, the other with bunks. Both have painted stone walls, good quality pine furniture and fitted carpets.

Bythyn y Wennol, sleeps 4 - Adjoining Bwthyn y Dryw, the ground floor is quarry tiled and has double glass doors looking onto the garden, and across woods and fields to the hills beyond. There is comfortable seating, a TV/video, dining suite and a generous pine fitted kitchen area with electric cooker and hood, fridge/freezer, washer/drier and microwave. The ground floor bathroom is fully tiled and has WC, basin and bath/shower. Upstairs are two bedrooms with attractive sloping ceilings and dormer windows. One has a double bed, the other has bunks.

Bythyn y Drudwy and Bwthyn y Telor, each sleep 2 - These cottages share the same layout, having a living room with lime-washed stone walls, quarry tiled floor, exposed beams and wood burning stove. There is comfortable seating, TV/video, dining suite and fitted kitchen area with electric cooker and hood, fridge freezer, washer/drier and microwave. The adjoining ground floor bedroom has a double bed, pine furniture, fitted carpet and en-suite fully tiled bathroom with WC, basin and bath/shower.
