A tastefully furnished fisherman's cottage with terraced garden, it is set in a quiet, sheltered location with panoramic sea views over Swansea Bay and Mumbles Head from most rooms and the garden. If you are looking to holiday with friends or family and need two cottages, our latest property Cockleshell Cottage is next door but one and shares many of the same features and of course the same great sea view.
Periwinkle Cottage is furnished in contemporary country style with a few interesting vintage decorative items, carefully designed with an attention to detail offering a relaxing haven of calm seaside colours and beautiful sea views.
The stable door opens onto the open plan living and dining area with window seat and flat screen TV/DVD and far-reaching sea views, The master bedroom has a 5' teak four poster facing the picture window framing the sea - watch the boats go by without getting out of bed. The pretty rear bedroom has two 2'6" childrens' beds with views and access to the garden and woods. Attractive fitted kitchen with integrated appliances including dishwasher and washing machine. Upstairs bathroom has a white suite with shower over bath. Gas central heating. Garden with choice of seating areas (deck or paved terrace) overlooking the bay.
The cottage benefits from gas central heating and double glazed throughout; there is a private parking space immediately outside. The nearest bus stop is only three minutes walk away.
A welcome tray, bed linen and bath towels are provided plus local tourist information and a selection of DVDs, games and hardback books.
We don't accept pets (but please see our other property Thistleboon where pets are welcome) and smoking is not permitted.
Periwinkle is well located for walking down to the sea front and sampling the wide range of eateries, pubs and cafes in Mumbles. You can be sitting and enjoying a drink within 10 minutes of leaving the cottage. Sited on a private road overlooking the bay, Periwinkle benefits from a private parking space
Langland and Caswell Bays, Bracelet Bay and Mumbles Head lighthouse are within easy walking distance. Mumbles is an ideal base for families, walkers, couples and watersports enthusiasts with a choice of beautiful beaches, cliff top walks and spectacular views, restaurants, specialist shops, wine bars and delis in the village itself and along the front. Promenade down the front to the pier, ride the land train or book a boat ride to see the Gower coastline and maybe dolphins too. Surfing, kite flying, sailing, horse riding, archery - you'll be spoilt for choice.
Restaurants, cafes, ice cream parlours, pizza and pasta, fish and chips, wine bars and takeaways all within walking distance. Excellent choice of eateries covering every taste and budget.
Easily accessed from the M4 or by train (Swansea). Cottage is closer to Mumbles lighthouse and is sited just off Mumbles Road which runs adjacent to the sea front walk. Private parking outside the cottage and just a couple of steps up to the front door.
The tariff includes gas, electric, high quality bed linen, wifi, towels and welcome tray. If required a travel cot (without linen), highchair and stair-gate are also provided.
A deposit of 30% of the balance is required to confirm reservations. The balance is due a minimum of 6 weeks before the arrival date.
