Duffryn Mawr is a family home situated in an acre of land approximately three quarters of a mile from the village of Pendoylan in the Vale of Glamorgan. The accommodation consists of three fully contained cottages able to sleep 11 in total. As an extra twin bedroom to compliment either Kingfisher or Swallow Cottage we can offer a very cute and cosy Shepherd's Hut which is ideal for older kids. The Hideaway hut sleeps 2 in a luxury hut comprising a retractable full size double bed with luxury bedding, Once retracted plenty of room for dining and watching tv in front of the pipsqueak log burner whilst cooking at the compact kitchen area. Shower room complete with toilet and whb too. Private outdoor deck area attached.
Kingfisher Cottage has two bedrooms - a double and a twin - and Swallow Cottage has one double bedroom. The Loft has two double bedrooms, one with an additional single bed making it an ideal family bedroom. They are sympathetically converted from a stone barn, however have fully equipped kitchens and bathrooms with open plan living rooms with easy chairs.
All accommodations are very light and airy to a high standard, looking out over the surrounding countryside. They have ample safe parking and all have south facing patios and barbecue areas.
Maid service is available if requested in advance.
The beautiful Heritage Coast is a few miles away with superb walks and scenery. An approximate 15 minute drive takes you to Merthyr Mawr sand dunes, estuary and the beautiful Ogmore beach where horse riding to all standards is available.
Roughly 8 miles away is the bustling centre of Cardiff City with its numerous attractions including museums, the amazing Wales Millennium Centre where many West End shows tour, Cardiff International Arena which host many class acts. Cardiff Castle, Cardiff Bay and the spectacular Millennium Stadium.
Heading west for a few miles is the small, however bustling and trendy market town of Cowbridge with its designer shops, wine bars and plenty of traditional pubs.
The Vale Gold Resort and Spa, Royal Porthcawl, The Celtic Manor (home of the 2010 Ryder Cup), Cottrell Park and Rolls of Monmouth, to name but a few. Chepstow and Cheltenham racecourses are within an hour or so drive. Tee off times and race cards can be arranged with prior notice. Half price discount vouchers on tee times are available for the Vale of Glamorgan if requested in advance. Also, Cottrell Park will offer a special price on tee times if booked through ourselves.
Taxi and mini bus transport to any attractions can be arranged with prior notice.
There is a very diverse choice of attractions and activities that can be done in or around the Vale of Glamorgan. Just let us know what takes your fancy and all the details can be forwarded to you or here for your arrival.
The cottages are provided with a welcome pack of coffee, tea bags, milk and sugar and biscuits. If you would like basic provisions to be provided for your arrival please let me know with good notice. This will then be paid for on arrival in cash.
There is a wide range of dining establishments within a short distance, from wine bars and pub grub to 5 star restaurants. If you would like a table booked prior to your arrival, please let me know.
There is a Tesco Extra about 10 minutes drive away for all your grocery needs. Along with a retail outlet boasting Marks and Spencer, Next, TK Max, Matalan, JB Sports, Brantano, Argos, Clarks, Carphone Warehouse etc.
