Restored in 2009, Brunel's tower houses the hydraulic accumulator which powered the lock gates and cranes of the unique Briton Ferry floating dock. Opened in 1861 and closed in 1959, the harbour walls remain. There are plans to restore this historic structure at some point, though this would be a huge and expensive undertaking, so don't hold your breath!
