The Lodge is in the quiet, tranquil village of St Harmon, just outside the historic market town of Rhayader in mid Wales. Rhayader is also known as the home of the Elan Valley Reservoirs.

We are open to all kinds of people wanting different kinds of holiday breaks: down to walkers, bikers, bird watchers or just relaxing in the heart of Wales countryside. Here at Rhiw-y-gog we have sheep, goats, kune kune pigs and ponnies situated in the sounding fields.

The lodge is fully equipped with everything you need for your stay, inc a hot tub with local shops in town including butchers, hardware, grocers and chemist, as well as bike hire, coffee shops and pubs with open fires offering good ales and home cooked food.

Bookings can be taken all year round for 3, 4, or 7 night breaks. Linen, towels, heating and electric by meter reading, first £35 per week Logs at cost, first supply included.

Rhiw-y-gog Lodge is set on a smallholding of about five acres where we keep pigs, sheep and chickens. There is a play area and tree house for visiting children, and a barbecue and patio area for those long summer days, or relax in the Hot tub and takie in all the views.

Local attractions

In nearby Rhayader is a leisure centre offering swimming, squash, gym and plenty more. Gigrin Farm for the bird watchers, where they feed red kites. Clive Powell offers mountain bike hire, accessories and orgainsed biking days out. Visit the Elan Valley reservoirs for magnificent views, endless walking and leisurely drives. Cwmythig moto-cross track holds regular meeting through the summer months. Horse riding nearby. While you're here, visit the coast too - Aberystwyth, Newquay and Barmouth are all within about an hour's drive.

Eating out

In St Harmon there is a local pub just a 5 minute walk away. In nearby Rhayader there's a choice of Indian, Chinese and fish and chips take-aways, restaurants, coffee shops and plenty of pubs offering lunchtime and evening meals.
