Statue of the Duke of Wellington, Brecon

Close-up of the statue of the Duke of Wellington [1769 - 1852] which stands by St Mary's Church in the centre of the Mid Wales town of Brecon. The statue was erected in 1856 by a Brecon resident Evan Thomas as a mark of respect, although Wellington had no connection whatsoever with the town.
