Most of the buildings in Llandrindod Wells date from the early to mid Victorian period, following the arrival of the railway line which, from 1868, made the town accessible to the masses who flocked to the fashionable spa resort to take the waters and enjoy the bracing country air. This building on the corner of High Street, just across the road from the entrance to the Rock Park - hence one of the town's most desirable locations - was once one of the town's hotels, and has since been converted into flats.
