Our B&B offering is a huge one bedroomed first floor apartment in our beautifully converted, spacious barn, which stands in extensive gardens and grounds in the beautiful Towy Valley near Llandeilo, West Wales. The bedroom can be a super king sized double or twin beds. The living room has a full single sofa bed, a small kitchen area, a dining area, comfortable seating. Smart TV, free WIFI. Bathroom has a bath with shower over.

The accommodation

Full of character with beamed and vaulted ceilings the two rooms and bathroom which comprise our B&B apartment are separate from the other bedrooms, so very quiet and private.

The very large living room has a small kitchenette area with microwave, toaster, fridge freezer and kettle plus crockery for 3 people. There's a full sized single sofa bed as well as comfy armchairs, a dining table and chairs and Smart TV with freesat. Free Wifi. The bathroom is off this room with shower over the adjacent bedroom can be configured as a Superking sized double or two singles.

We provide a variety of locally produced and homemade products for a generous continental breakfast which we leave in the dining area for guests to help themselves at a time which suits them, including homemade jams, and apple juice from fruit produced at Ty Cefn Tregib and honey from our bees. And there are always a variety of teas, coffee and biscuits.

Guests are welcome to relax in the entrance hall /lounge where there are maps, guide books and local information, and also on the terraces and in the gardens which surround the house.

The location

Ty Cefn Tregib (which means "the house behind Tregib") was originally the home farm of the former Tregib Mansion. Surrounded by extensive gardens, woodland and grounds which our guests are always welcome to explore, with views across the old Tregib Mansion parkland and the Towy valley to the pretty little market town of Llandeilo on the hill opposite, Ty Cefn Tregib has the perfect location for relaxation, inspiration and tranquil contemplation. There are walks directly from here to Tregib Woods nature reserve and along the Cib brook with it's rushing waterfalls. We have direct access to the brook where there is a small plunge pool for the brave hearted. A wonderful shady place on a hot summer's afternoon. Llandeilo town is only 20 minutes walk away along the road or across the fields, and has a wealth of interesting small shops and good eating places. Our nearest village, Ffairfach, is 10 mins walk and has 2 local pubs with wonderful atmosphere and good food.

Our area

We are perfectly placed for exploring. We have Ruined castles - Carreg Cennen and Dinefwr are both nearby and there are many more ruined castles all along the Towy valley to Llansteffan Castle on the Aberglasney gardens and the National Botanic Garden of Wales are about 10 minutes drive, NT Roman gold mines 20 minutes drive, You can walk to the National Trust Dinefwr park and Newton House. There are walks and cycling routes from the cottage and further afield, mountain biking tracks at Brechfa Forest. We can suggest other cycling and walking routes which are less well known. The Gower and Pembrokeshire beaches are accessible by car in less than an hour and the Carmarthenshire coast is even closer! Oakwood theme park is about 45 minutes drive

Travel info

Easily accessible from the M4 motorway or via the A40. We have plenty of safe parking on site.

You can also come by train to Ffairfach station, a 10 minute walk away (links to Swansea or Shrewsbury).

Regular buses from Carmarthen or Swansea stop in Ffairfach or Llandeilo and link with National Express.

About our prices

B&B can be booked starting on any day (minimum 2 nights). Initial prices are for 2 persons (£110 per night, with discounts up to 25% for further nights). Includes continental breakfast. You will be given an option to add one more person as you continue the booking process. (Extra person £25 per night). The live booking calendar will calculate the price for you before you have to commit to booking.
