Seen here across its frozen trout lake, Pen-y-Gwryd Hotel was originally a farmhouse, which became an inn, and later an hotel. Close to the start of the 'Pyg Track', a well-used route to the peak of Snowdon, it has long been popular with climbers and although in a rather out-of-the-way spot, it attracts plenty of custom.
