The ruin of Talley Abbey is in the hills north of Llandeilo in Carmarthenshire. While foundations mark out the site of the abbey, only part of the crossing tower and presbytery are still standing. Talley Abbey was founded by Rhys ap Gruffydd in the 1180s. It was the only Welsh abbey founded for the Premonstratensian monastic order.
