Mouse Cottage is a cosy grade 2 listed Copper Miner's cottage. Sleeps up to four people in two bedrooms and is pet friendly. Well placed in picturesque Beddgelert with but a short walk to pubs, eateries and a convenience store. Fabulous walks from the door step. Beddgelert nestles in the stunning region of the Snowdonia National Park where a holiday can be as relaxing or as active and adventurous as you like.

The accommodation

A warm and comfortable cottage that has electric heaters and a log burner. On the ground floor is a through lounge, kitchen and diner. There are freesat TV, DVD player and a good selection of DVDs and CDs, books and magazines. Electric cooker, fridge (small freezer in the lobby), microwave and a table with four chairs. Access to the outside patio and shower room are off the kitchen and through a lobby. Shower room comprises of a shower, hand basin, toilet and heated towel rail. The raised patio is accessed via steps and has patio furniture and glorious mountainous views.

On the second floor, are two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers, dressing table, a hairdryer and a small electric heater. The second bedroom has two single beds, wardrobe and a small electrical heater.

The location

Mouse Cottage is situated in the centre of picturesque village of Beddgelert which lies within the stunning area of the Snowdonia National Park, with mountain views. From the door step, the cottage is well placed for direct accessed walks along the River Glaslyn. Additionally within the village there is a well stocked convenience store and many dog friendly pubs and restaurants along with Coffee shops, a pizzeria and ice cream parlour and Tourist Information Centre.

Our area

There is so much to do and explore in and around the area of Beddgelert. Walks and climbs for varying abilities along streams. rivers, lakes, past waterfalls and through forests. Two miles from the village there is access to Mount Snowdon via the Watkin Path. For rail enthusiasts, the Welsh Highland steam railway is serviced by a station in the village. Apart from the mountains, the coast is but eight miles away. Black Rock Sands with its wonderful large expanse of sandy beach with stunning vistas. There is the beautiful harbour of Borth y Gest with tucked away beaches and coastal walks and a dog friendly Bistro. Further afield, is the sea side town of Criccieth with Dylan's beachfront Art Deco Styled restaurant and the Italianesque village of Portmeirion.

There are many activities within Snowdonia to suit all age ranges. Surf Snowdonia with the world's first inland surf lagoon, kayaking and a kiddies soft play shack and Zip World with Europe's longest zip line, quarry karting and Big Red for the younger explorers.

For garden enthusiast, there is the world famous Bodnant Garden with its botanical collections from around the world and just a 40 minute or so journey from the cottage.

Travel info

On-road parking outside the cottage. Key code and address will be issued a few days before your stay.

Along the A5, proceeding north from Betys Y Coed to Capel Curig. Turn left, sign posted Caernarfon and Beddgelert on the A4086 which then leads onto the A498 eventually leads into Gwynant Street Beddgelert. Mouse Cottage is on the right hand side.

Directions to the cottage from Portmadog: Head north along the A487 from Portmadog, turn right on the A498 to Tremadog. Keeping on the A498 for seven miles, passing through Tremadog and Prenteg and arriving in the village of Beddgelert. Keeping on the A498 cross the river bridge and turn immediately right, which leads on into Gwynant Street. The cottage is 500 yards on the left hand side.
