Resting between the mountains of Snowdonia and the beaches of Cardigan Bay and the Cambrian Coast, the Trefeddian Hotel offers 59 bedrooms and three self-catering apartments to families, couples and solo wayfarers. Guests have use of our relaxing indoor swimming pool and spa bath with stunning views over Cardigan Bay.

Run by the friendly Cave-Browne-Cave family, who have owned the hotel for over 100 years, Trefeddian combines the weight of tradition and family history with freshness and modernity, providing all mod cons within the light and spacious hotel rooms, each of which has an en-suite bath or shower room.

The accommodation

You can choose between a sea view or hill view room, both of which offer beautiful views. From the sea view rooms you look out over Cardigan Bay or across the mouth of the Dovey Estuary, with views sweeping down as far as the Pembrokeshire coast. On throwing open your window you can breathe in the fresh sea air, inviting you to come and spend a day on the beach, before returning to your soft bed.

In a Hill View room you will wake to see the hotel's kitchen garden where fresh produce is grown and picked regularly for the dining room. Beyond this rise the peaks of the Snowdonia National park. All rooms are generously sized, with space for extra cots or childrens' beds.

On the fourth floor the bedrooms are even more luxurious, spacious and light with palatial furnishings. One of these rooms offers a four poster bed and private balcony where you can sit and look over panoramic views with a glass of Champagne. The large rooms on this floor are also ideal for wheelchair users or those with mobility needs, with a lift transporting visitors to all floors.

Meals are freshly prepared by chefs and served in the hotel's dining room, where you can sample local food on the nightly five course table dhôte menu, while looking out over sweeping views over the sea. The atmosphere is traditional and convivial. Dinner can also be provided in your bedroom.

Also on-site are a games room and large outdoor and indoor play areas, as well as four beautifully presented lounges where you can relax after a long day exploring the surrounding area. For those who want to be more active there is a swimming pool and an all-weather tennis court, as well as a putting green and a luxurious beauty treatment room.

The location

The small fishing port of Aberdovey (Aberdyfi in Welsh) is a friendly harbour town where the River Dyfi meets Cardigan bay. Legend has it that off the coast is the submerged kingdom of Cantrer Gwaelod a Welsh Atlantis. At times of peril it is said one can still hear the bells of the town ringing from below the sea.

Notes

Dogs are welcome in the hotel, except for on the fourth floor.
