Experience peace and tranquility at our eco-friendly self catering cottage and lovely garden lying in the heart of the beautiful Vale of Glamorgan countryside. It is tastefully decorated and furnished and situated a few yards away from the main house where the owners are on site should any unforseen problems arise. The ground floor accommodation is ideal for those with limited mobility.
The cottage has a spacious open plan lounge with a quality settee, easy chair, coffee table and television at one end and dining/kitchen area at the other.
The front door leads to the parking area and rear door to the private enclosed patio with quality garden furniture for those 'al fresco' meals. The NGS (National Garden Scheme) approved private garden is adjacent to rolling pastureland.
The well equipped kitchen has an electric oven and ceramic hob, microwave, fridge, small washing machine,dining table and chairs.
The bedroom, which can be either be twin or super king, has ample storage space, an additional television and hairdryer.
An iron and ironing board are available.
Good sized bathroom with wash-hand basin, and bath with shower. Please note there is no walk in shower.
All bedding and towels are supplied and inclusive in the cost. In the case of longer lets these are changed weekly.
The biomass boiler provides central heating in the winter. An oil boiler provides heating if required during the remainder of the year. There are thermostats on all radiators.
All external doors and windows were changed to high quality PVC in the autumn of 2017 ensuring the property is very well insulated during cold periods.
The property is located 11 miles from Central Cardiff, the vibrant Capital of Wales. A weekday Park and Ride Service is approximately twenty minumtes drive from Y Bwthyn Bach and takes passengers to Cardiff City Centre. Y Bwthyn Bach is 3 miles from the historic town of Cowbridge with many fine restaurants and shops. The 14 mile long dramatic unspoilt Glamorgan Heritage Coast is only six miles away.
Other major toursist attractions nearby are the highly acclaimed St. Fagans National History Museum (free entry) and Dyffryn House and Gardens (administered by the National Trust). The recently opened Royal Mint Visitor Centre is well worth a visit.
The Gower, the Brecon Beacons, and the South Wales Valleys are all within easy reach, making Y Bwthyn Bach an ideal touring base for Southern Wales.
Plenty of golfing and fishing opportunities are nearby. The cottage is surrounded by a network of public footpaths with walking also available in 300 acres of forestry half a mile away.
Secure storage and clothes drying facilities are available to meet the needs of walkers, golfers and cyclists, this area can be accessed via a door alongside the cottage.
We assure guests with allergies that Y Bwthyn Bach is pet free.
Babies are welcome, a travel cot will be provided on request.
Please note the accommodation is strictly non-smoking and there are no designated smoking areas within the property or grounds.
For your convenience and with our compliments a small welcome pack of essentials is provided which includes tea, coffee, sugar, milk, kitchen roll, washing up liquid,toilet paper etc. A complimentary bottle of wine, red or white is offered for weekly lets.
Although Y Bwthyn Bach is conveniently situated to explore the many diverse tourist attractions in the area the nearest regular public transport is three miles away and we advise against booking if you do not plan to bring your own transport.
