The quirky and picturesque market town of Llandeilo, with its wide range of fantastic independent shops, is only a seven minute drive away. You can find everything from handmade silver jewellery and antiques to kitchenware and designer clothes. A short walk from the town centre is the impressive Newton House and magnificent Dinefwr castle now managed by The National and CADW. The walk is gentle and the views over the Towy Valley are second to none.

Within ten to fifteen minutes drive there are two more spectacular castles and the unique folly Paxtons Tower.

For garden enthusiasts, the National Botanical Gardens of Wales is a short drive away, and even closer to the cottages is the recently restored Aberglasney House with its gardens. Both are beautiful and well worth a visit.

Wildlife lovers can expect to see an abundance of Red Kites and there is a Red Kite Feeding Centre in the National Park which allows you to get up close and appreciate their splender.

The Gower and Pembrokshire with all of their splendid beaches are within an hour's drive. Some of the best surfing in Britain can be enjoyed at Rhossili (Gower) and Freshwater East (Pembrokeshire). Equally these beaches can be enjoyed from a deck chair or picnic rug and make a great family day out. Tenby, with its multi-coloured victorian houses is one of our firm favourites and we continue to go back every year.
