Crud Y Barcud
- Pumsaint Holiday Cottage
- Sleeps 1 to 4, 2 bedrooms
- £234 to £488 per week
Crud y Barcud is a very appealing cottage with its own beautifully landscaped garden. It adjoins our farmhouse and is on a 280 acre hill farm. Llandre is a working farm with many well kept traditional buildings.
The cottage itself is a sympathetic conversion of a former carthouse. Downstairs we have a kitchen diner with a stylish kitchen, designed and made by a local craftsman. It has a dishwasher, washing machine/tumble dryer, fridge and microwave, and a tv. Upstairs we have a double bedroom, a twin bedroom and a toilet/shower room.
The cottage has an oil central heating system.
There are no extra hidden costs, the price is all inclusive.
Bed linen, towels, tea towels, kitchen roll, toilet roll and basic cleaning materials are provided. A welcome pack awaits you on arrival.
The garden has it's own barbecue, large patio area, a fountain and an ornamental well. Being parents we know that children need that extra bit of space to run around, so we are more than happy for our guests to relax and enjoy whilst playing on the swings or the trampoline on our lawn.
We live on the National Trust Dolau Cothi Estate. The estate is well kept and consists of nine farms. All the farms are farmed traditionally, and all the farmers are sympathetic to environmental issues.
In 2003 collectively the farmers propositioned the National Trust and Sainsburys. Now we market our lamb as 'Dolau Cothi National Trust Lamb' and it is only sold in selected Sainsburys stores throughout the UK. This unique venture has done extremely well, winning awards such as the 'True Taste' (Taste of Wales), and The Best New Lamb Product in the UK (Dec 2005). In 2006 we were awarded a Fine Food award with the National Trust.
The estate consists of beautiful, unspoilt countryside, with its riverside and woodland walks, bridleways, cycle paths and a visitor centre and a pub in the village of Pumsaint.
Crud y Barcud is a stone's throw away from the River Cothi, the National Trust Dolaucothi Gold mines are miles down the road, we're 10 miles from the University town of Lampeter, 13 miles from the market town of Llandovery and just over 20 miles from the coast.
We have a good selection of pubs and restaurants which cater for all. To appreciate the charm of the Cothi Valley you have to see it, hear it, feel it, and smell it for yourselves.
