The Studio at Tyffynon

Crickhowell Bed and Breakfast Sleeps 1 to 3, 1 bedroom £55 to £85 per night

The Studio is a perfect place from which to explore the wonderful Brecon Beacons, set down a quiet country lane on the outskirts of the village with no immediate neighbours and beautiful mountains views from every window. Completely separated from the main house with its own private entrance and garden it has the feeling of your own little cottage but with the bonus of room service.

The annex consists of a light and spacious room with sitting and bedroom areas, a dining area with table and chairs and an en-suite bathroom. The accommodation provides one double and one single bed, making it ideal for couples, friends or small family groups.

The Studio is equipped with a large comfy sofa, flat screen TV with free sat, DVD/CD player, wifi and a DAB radio. We provide a selection of films, a few books and games for you to enjoy along with information on local attractions and walks. Facilities include the usual hairdryer, mirror, iron and toiletry essentials along with a few little extras to ensure you have everything you need during your stay. The room is equipped with a refreshment area where you will find a kettle and small fridge along with fresh milk and a selection of teas and coffees. Plates and cutlery are provided and careful guests are welcome to bring food back to eat in the evening.

The en-suite bathroom has a power shower and full length bath and we provide clean towels and toiletries for use during your stay.

The pretty market town of Crickhowell with its variety of eateries and takeaways is just 6 minutes drive door to door and should you want something a little special there are several award winning restaurants near by.

A choice of freshly cooked breakfasts is brought to your room each morning to enjoy at your leisure along with the beautiful mountain views to start your day with a smile. We think good food is important and also believe in supporting local business so source all our ingredients from quality local suppliers where ever possible and at the right time of year the eggs will be laid by our very own rescue hens. We also subscribe to the "Love Food Hate Waste" campaign and believe in quality over quantity, we offer a range of breakfast for appetites both large and small to accommodate everyone from the energetic hill walker to the sedate sight see-er and are very happy to cater for special diets given advance notice.

Living in such a beautiful part of Wales we take the environment seriously and and try to be as environmentally friendly as we can. We aim to use eco-friendly products and no harsh chemicals or strong smells, our towels are line dried in the fresh air and we don't use any strong smelling crystals or softeners. We try our best to reuse and recycle as much as possible whilst trying to minimise waste and cut down on food miles. The water comes from a mountain spring and we encourage guests to minimise the use of plastic water bottles and are happy to wash up refillable bottles which you can refill with lovely spring water for your day out.

Local Area and Activities

There are a huge range of things to see and do both locally and in the surrounding area. The Studio is situated between Abergavenny and Brecon, just a few miles from Crickhowell in the heart of the National Park and a host of attractions can be reached in less than an hours drive. If walking is your passion you can throw away the car keys and try a different walk every day directly from the Studio door. But the Brecon Beacons are not just about walking - there are also lots of other activities to try, with something to suit every taste from mountain biking to horse riding, canoeing to fishing, gliding to climbing - the list is endless.

If you prefer to take things at a quieter pace, the attractive market towns of Abergavenny, Brecon and Hay-on-Wye are all within easy reach and the area boasts canals, castles, waterfalls and museums as well as a host of festivals of all varieties throughout the year. The nearby market town of Crickhowell has a quaint charm and no shortage of good places for eating and shopping and there are three award winning restaurants in close proximity as well as some rustic, traditional country pubs and cafes all within easy reach.

We love this area and think you will too, so if this sounds like your sort of B&B why not book a short break and come and see for yourself.
